R2D2

He was cruising around the Star Wars booth. This is why real props are better that animation.

Beatles Rock Band at gamescom

It's like how I imagine a concert would be but without drug addicts or real instruments.

Walking in the marketplace with Danielle and Josh

Timbits in Germany!

Thanks, Danielle! I ate all the chocolate cause they were okay but, as you can see, the honey dip might be radioactive.

Leaving Köln Hbf

Bye, Colonge. See you at work tomorrow (train was 30 mins late... so bored!).

This place opened before Canada!

Ate here in Köln for lunch today.

Waiting for people to show up to the museum. Can't ever get enough of this thing.

The Straßebahn might be horribly slow but it pays off in the end.

View from my couch

Ich glaube, dieses Foto ist besser. Ich liebe Deutschland!

Photo blogging or whatever

I'm testing out uploading photos from my iPhone. This is a house
across the street. Pretty exciting.

Nach Bonn und Köln!

A relative who lives in Bonn has offered me a job at his company in Köln, doing web stuff! It's not gaming but it's a great start, especially since he has offered to let me live in his house for the three months he can offer me (for now). From there, we will see if I am a good fit, if there is enough work (with the economy as it is), or if I want to try something else (e.g. applying to game companies). We'll see how it goes!

Bonn was the birthplace of Beethoven and the former capital of West Germany. Köln (Cologne in English) is a big city and has lots to do and see, including a really cool-looking Cathedral. Wikipedia says it was founded by the Romans in 38 BC!!! By contrast, Barrie was first settled in the early 1800s! So that's 1800 extra years of awesome Cologne has on Barrie. Also, there is no hideous spirit catcher statue, presumably.

It'll be in the West of Germany, so France, Belgium, and the Netherlands aren't far away, not that plane tickets seem all that expensive anyway! Another huge city, Düsseldorf, isn't far away either. Basically, it's gonna be awesome.

I plan to book my plane tickets this Sunday, aiming for the beginning of June!

Hello World

So I finally created a "blog" proper. Gross. In any case, I don't plan to post here often, for now. I decided to finally cancel my hosting, instead of giving Host Gator $10 charity every month for doing nothing. I haven't felt the need to develop "3tCMS" (lololol) in a long, long time and don't really find myself needing to host any other files either. Anyhow, I thought I'd create this and forward mattt.ca here.
